3. Arrange the items inside the basket in an attractive manner.
4. Take the tulle netting or shrink wrap and spread it out on a flat surface and set the basket in the center.
5. Gather the netting at the top of the basket and secure it with a pretty ribbon and bow.
As a bonus, here are a few helpful hints on gift basket ideas:
House warming gift: Select pot holders, kitchen towels, an egg timer and several other small kitchen items or boxes of pasta, coffee or tea to place in the basket. Wrap the basket in shrink wrap and tie it with a ribbon. Attach a set of measuring spoons or plastic measuring cups onto the ribbon, so that they dangle on the front of the basket.
Baby shower: Start with a large white basket. Purchase a package of craft flowers from the craft store. You will want to use the soft pastel colored flowers that have no stem. Using your hot glue gun, glue the pastel flowers around the edge of the basket. Purchase several receiving blankets, baby outfits and bottles and place them inside of a large basket. Use one of the baby blankets as the base of the basket, wrapping it around the tissue paper in the bottom of the basket. Wrap the basket in pink or blue tulle netting and tie it at the top with a white velvet ribbon. Tie a few baby rattles onto the velvet ribbon so that the rattle hangs on the front of the basket. This is a very useful item for baby showers, not only will the mother-to-be use all of the items inside the basket, the basket itself will be a useful item to store baby blankets or toys in the nursery.
Wedding gift: What do you give the couple that already has everything? How about a personal gift basket full of items they can use on their wedding night or honeymoon? Purchase a medium size white basket, white tulle netting and a shimmering gold ribbon. Fill the bottom of the basket with irredecent tissue paper, the kind that looks like it is different colors when the light shines on it. Stuff the basket with scented oils, massage oils, candles, potpourri and perhaps a bottle of champagne. Don't forget to include a box of matches to light the candles! Wrap the basket with the white tulle netting and tie it with the gold ribbon. It makes a beautiful, elegant wedding gift that the bride and groom will be delighted to open on their wedding night.
