4th wedding anniversary gift ideas
Today people tend to have their own ideas on what to get for each other for gifts. If you need a few ideas or want to follow a set list we've done some brainstorming for you. Here are some choices if you are celebrating your 4th wedding anniversary to buy as gifts. Listed are the Traditional, Modern, Contemporary, and Gemstone associated with the 4th.
The Traditional 4th anniversary gift used to be linens. This has now been "moved" to be the 8th modern anniversary gift but we'll give you some ideas if you want to stick with tradition.
Some ideas for men's gifts could be:
handkerchiefs
robe
pajamas
tie
a nice shirt
Women's gift ideas:
handkerchiefs
pajama/robe
sheets
an embroidered pillow
Today's more Modern 4th anniversary gift has a theme of Electrical Appliances. Now this is a good thing for men as they love their tools (toys) and a few women out there would love the idea too (especially if they love to cook) so here are a few things to choose from.
Men-
Electric drill or screwdriver
table saw, miter saw
compressor, wet/dry vac, router
grill, pressure washer
Women-
Mixers, Blenders, Bread Makers
Ice Cream Maker, smores maker, quesadilla maker
Food processor, coffee maker
vacuum cleaner, steam cleaners
For today's Contemporary 4th anniversary gifts, flowers and fruit are what you would select from. The flower associated with the 4th anniversary is the Geranium, this seems to be geared mainly for women. This one you may have to be a bit creative.
Some ideas you can give are:
potted plants
seeds to grow your own fruits/flowers
fruit baskets
or any item that may have a picture of fruits and flowers like frames, towels etc.
a movie or cd with a fruit or flower in the title...Bed of Roses etc.
The Gemstone list shows Amethyst and Topaz associated with this Anniversary also. Pick out a beautiful piece of jewelry with these stones in it.
Ideas for women:
rings, earrings
bracelet, watch
necklace, pins
Ideas for men:
cuff links, money clip
watch, ring
What ever you decide on what matters most is that it comes from your heart. Think about the person you are buying the gift for. What do they like to do, listen to, or watch. Be creative in your choice. Some other ideas are poems for the frame or a picture of you, family and friends. Put thought into what you are getting and make it yourself if you can. Try writing a poem, song or just a few words about how much the person means to you. Find a love song that has a "fruit or flower" word in the title/song that means something special. You can find songs from way back to current ones that follow this. Bon Jovi Bed of Roses, Poison Every Rose has it's thorn, Glen Miller's Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree (With Anyone Else But Me) are a few. Be creative and/or listen to what your spouse is saying, this will give you some ideas as well.
